Step 3: Set up a study

In the previous two steps you learned to create a questionnaire and to schedule this questionnaire. The next big step is to set up a study. In the following tutorial you will learn how to invite participants, use an intake and set up auto enrollment (automation).

Auto enroll settings

Most features discussed in this tutorial relate to the auto enroll settings. There are more advanced auto enroll settings available not discussed in the tutorial, for example to randomize participants over multiple protocols.

Inviting participants

Of course, participants need to find your study. There are multiple ways of inviting participants to your study, but using invitation codes is the preferred way (unless you work on an anonymized citizen science projects).

Intake questionnaire

The intake is a longer questionnaire that is immediately presented to the participant when he or she adds a research or a practitioner. This can be used to welcome the participant, ask longer questionnaires or ask consent.

Protocols

If you are interested in using the same schedule for multiple participants, you can make use of a protocol. You can think of a protocol as a schedule for a fictional client that you can later copy to different real clients. Protocols exist of a combination of interactions/questionnaires and a schedule. However, the use of a protocol is rather complex and is therefore explained in the next step.

Test your study

Once you have created your study and set up the auto enroll features in your account, it is very important to test your study!
